IT'S GO TIME!

I told you I'd be back with another email once it was go time.

Well, it is.

The "Definitive Edition" of my bestselling novel to date THE FORGOTTEN FORTUNE is out now!

Peeling back the curtain a little...

When I offered this story to the publisher, we weren't 100% sure there would be a sequel.

At the time, I didn't self-publish much. Now, could I have written Jack 2 regardless of how sales went? Sure. But business is business, and writing a sequel to a book that doesn't sell is bad business, frankly. Readers don't want to hear/read that, but it's the truth. It takes A LOT of time to put a book together. Writing just to write is a good time, but writing to make a living is another beast altogether.

To be clear, I wasn't writing full-time six years ago. I just wanted to write a cool archaeological thriller involving the Nazi gold train. Jack was born from that. And he helped me along, giving me an audience and some much-needed confidence in my ability to spin yarn.

I still remember the publisher's email for more Jack books :)

Again, just to catch people up.

The publishing rights to the first 5 books in the Jack Reilly series have reverted to me. The plan is to rerelease all of them, every Friday starting on Oct 16th - Nov 13th.

I've also rewritten (expanded in some cases), revised, reformatted, and redone the artwork! Admittedly, a few of the stories needed some TLC.

PLUS, The Forgotten Fortune now includes a foreword from the creator of the Eden Black Archaeological Thrillers, Luke Richardson.

I'm proud of my work :) Yes, I do them myself, for those who didn't know. And yes, I borrowed some art from the previous versions, mostly because they already represented the story well (though I did jazz them up a bit).

Each rerelease will have a short(ish) pre-order window. In this case, it's to make sure that the backend data on Amazon is correct.

Big news for JACK REILLY!!!

MASSIVE NEWS FOR JACK REILLY (and me)!!!

It's hard to properly articulate how awesome this is.

First of all, let me say that working with Severed Press has been a great experience, BUT with time, things change - not for better or worse, either. They just continue down a different road.

For those who don't know, Severed Press is an indie publisher based in Tasmania, Australia. Six years ago, they took a chance on a new series starring some guy named Jack Reilly. Since then, it has gone on to become my bestselling series.

This is where things get interesting.

The publishing contract has run its course, and I've had the rights for the first five books reverted back to ME. That means I get to republish those books on my own!

A keen eye will have noticed that those stories (ebooks) are no longer available on Amazon.

I assure you, books 1-5 are coming back to you soon!

As long as everything goes to plan, I will re-release one Jack Reilly thriller EVERY FRIDAY between Oct 16th and Nov 13th.

 These aren't the same old stories.

But like I said earlier, working with Severed Press has been a great experience.

What that means is we've come to an agreement to continue working together on something brand new. With the help of my good friend Rich (R.F. Blackstone), we've signed over the first four books of a new archaeological-thriller series led by Jason Rome.

This Aussie is a little rough around the edges... Okay, maybe he has A LOT of rough edges. Still, his stories are going to be fantastic to produce :) Rich and I have a lot planned for Jason.

Over-the-top action. Fast-paced. Fun adventure.

Look for book 1 of the series later this year!

This is the beginning of a new trilogy, set within the series, featuring the same cast of characters, but now on mainland Africa. Hopefully you've read Dark Island 3 so you understand why they are leaving Madagascar.

 The other thing I wanted to tell you all was that I'm doing something a "little" different with what will be the "Dark Continent Trilogy."

I'm writing and releasing all three books back to back to back.
